Polar’s own Aaron Palushaj

Aaron headed east from Michigan yesterday to the Philadelphia Flyers Well’s Fargo Center. The Philadelphia Flyers signed 5-11, 188 lb free-agent right wing Aaron Palushaj, a Polar Ice Hockey spokesperson and fan last May.

Palushaj, 25 (9/7/1989), is returning to North America after playing the 2014-15 season in the Kontinental Hockey League. He split the season between Medveščak Zagreb and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, recording a total of seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points in 53 games.

A native of Livonia, Michigan, Palushaj has appeared in a total of 68 NHL games for Montreal, Colorado and Carolina, collecting three goals and 11 assists for 14 points while averaging 9:02 per game. He has also appeared in 190 career American Hockey League games, posting 54 goals and 82 assists for 136 points.

Palushaj was selected by the St. Louis Blues in the second round (44th overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft. He played two seasons at the University of Michigan before joining the Blues’ AHL affiliate in Peoria, Illinois, during which time he represented the USA at the 2009 World Junior Championships. He was traded to Montreal by St. Louis for Matt D’Agostini on March 2, 2010, and after starting the 2010-11 season with Montreal’s AHL affiliate in Hamilton, Ontario, he was recalled and made his NHL debut with the Canadiens on March 17, 2011

Palushaj was the 44th overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and played two seasons at University of Michigan

 

Polar has it’s very first Photo Shoot

On Nov 11, 2014, photographer Ray “Butch” Smith headed out to the motor city to shoot some images of our Polar wands with model, Cecelia Shuler. Ray did an awesome job capturing some sweet images of Polar Wands in some of the most recognizable areas of downtown Detroit.

Cecelia Shuler is a model and full-time college student, whose interest include riding horses and hanging out with her friends. Look for more pictures of Cecelia in the future wearing some Polar Ice Hockey ladies apparel.

Grinder 3 on 3 Holiday Tournament

On December 28th. 2015, Polar Ice had the pleasure of presenting the 2015 Grinder 3on3 Holiday Tournament at the St Clair Shores Civic Arena, St. Clair Shores, Michigan.

Grinder Hockey is a Detroit based Tournament provider hosting tournaments for the past 4 years in and around the Detroit area. Polar Ice Hockey is proud to be working with local youth area sports teams. Teams gathered up 5 players per team in levels 2002 through 2006. Lot’s of fun was had by all and the kids were happy to get to skate with their friends during the Christmas break.
